Lynda NguyenFounder/ Executive Director
A Social Impact and Leadership Coach, Lynda guides entrepreneurs, executives, and teams towards a balanced, effective, and connected approach to leadership. She uses technology, beliefs, and mindset training, to help reprogram limiting attitudes towards failure and success. She believes in giving power back to her clients, by offering practices that create measurable change. A certified life coach, and HeartMath Trainer, Lynda creates change and increased resiliency, through science based techniques, as well as ancient technology, that reconnects you to your heart intelligence. Lynda has a Masters in Clinical Hypnotherapy, and is also a (Health Certified) Master NLP Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner. Dynamic and motivational, Lynda also graduated from FIRE, as a Firewalking Instructor (alongside graduates like Tony Robbins and T. Harv Eker); she leads breakthrough seminars to help teams learn the power of shifting mental states. Having meditated in the Goddess temples in India, while studying Kundalini and Tantra, Lynda carries deep reverence for ancient wisdom, balanced energy, and a holistic approach to wellness. After decades of not having a voice herself, Lynda is committed to creating the platforms needed to help people, specifically, women and young girls, find their power. Under some of the best masters, Lynda is a registered “Yoga Alliance” Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Tantra Teacher.
With a developing startup in Silicon Valley, in support of social change and connections, Lynda is committed to collaboration and community. She is continually exploring ways to use (transformative) technology to help serve, heal, and expand in greater and more impactful ways.
Cecilia SandovalVP of Schools and Education
Cecilia Sandoval is the Assistant Principal of Student Affairs at a Los Angeles California High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University of Northridge and a Master of Arts in Sociology from California State University of Dominguez Hills. While obtaining her Masters of Arts in Sociology, Cecilia became committed to helping inner city youth further understand the purpose and importance of their life. She has worked in various positions in education since 2007. She currently oversees 4 different departments at the current high school she is employed at - one being a holistic counseling program as the Assistant Principal of Students. This position has been the most challenging, and the most rewarding position in her career; it entails working with teachers and parents in reference to behavioral, academic, and social occurrences experienced by students. She is determined to continue to create a program that further unites all essential school stakeholders, and as a result promote the importance of communication and team building.
Being in Education has been one of the most impactful journeys that Cecilia has contributed to in her lifetime. She has transformed the lives of hundreds of students, and in turn, they have inspired her deeply. As one of the Officers and Founding Members of “The Magic of Psalm”, Cecilia is building ongoing relationships with schools nationwide and directing the educational vision at MOP.
Jennifer ApplegateVP of Training and Programs
Jennifer Applegate is a Holistic Tantra Coach, specializing in the integration of Physical Transformation, Emotional Health, and Sexual Wellness. She partners with High Performing Executives, Activists, and Entrepreneurs to facilitate exponential personal and professional advancement in a short period of time. After spending over a decade as a Whole Food Nutrition Counselor and certifying hundreds of Yoga Teachers as a Master Yoga trainer, Jennifer knows what truly drives physical metamorphosis and how to open the brain for confidence and higher optimal learning. Jennifer believes that high achievers are some of the most generous and overtaxed individuals; they require a personalized regime with support and accountability when it comes to their own growth and development.
Jennifer has been featured in “This is Life with Lisa Ling” on CNN and is a well loved speaker at high level entrepreneurial events such as From Passion to Profits Live. She has taken her past as a Military Aviation Engineer and synthesized the ideal combination of practical means to maximize a visionary end.
Jennifer is based in Los Angeles California with her husband and son. She leads the Programs and Training at The Magic of Psalm nonprofit.
Carisa BanuelosVP of Curriculum Development
A Tantra Teacher, Reiki Master, Shamanic Healer (Peruvian tradition); a risk taker taking her beloved Harley for a joy ride in the Denver metropolitan area, Carisa has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an infectious zest for life.
Carisa is the Founder of "The Foundational Self", an online program for those in pursuit of happiness. With over 20,000 hours of research and training in Shamanism, Reiki, Tantra, Yoga, Buddhist Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Yoga Psychology, she studies ancient texts extensively, and has worked with internationally known teachers. Teaching Shamanism publicly, and supporting clients privately in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation space, Carisa is committed to the paths of healing. Carisa also hosts a women’s circle, and created a movement called "The No Shame Movement".
As a child, Carisa felt like she was never seen or heard. Growing up in an environment where sexual taboos resulted in shame around sex. Not equipped with the tools to heal emotional trauma, Carisa found herself coping with cutting, alcohol, and abusive relationships. After entering recovery and discovering the healing power of Tantra, Yoga, Meditation, and practices of mental training, Carisa put an end to the self-abuse and the abusive relationships, and she now delivers this same freedom to all those who seek it.
Shylah RayCreative Events and Programs
Shylah Ray is an award-nominated, influential vocalist, musician, mother and activist. Originally, a native of Canada, her music was rooted in California after landing several opportunities singing back up. After years of travel, marriage, and a natural birth of her first daughter at home, she began writing inspirational music and developing her career in Los Angeles California. Self-taught vocally, and on the piano, Shylah Ray has inspired people from all over the world - with her soulful voice and her moving lyrics. She is also a birth doula and a voice empowerment coach. She tours the country sharing her music. Her second EP is releasing in winter 2017.
Jennifer IbarraTraining and Programs
Jennifer Ibarra stands for Love and Liberation. She is the Founder and CEO of MorenaMagic, a purpose-driven company focused on empowering women of color and their families through the art of healing, self-love and unity. Jennifer Ibarra is also a certified Tantra Coach, and Quantum-Touch healer. Jennifer currently works for the Blue Zones Project in Fort Worth, Texas— a community-led well-being initiative. She is a single mom of a 4 year-old daughter who ignited this passion and fire to help other women see the divine light and power within. Jennifer brings her vast experience in community building and social impact work into the field, to support the students and schools, as a part of The Magic of Psalm nonprofit's Training and Programs Department.
Natalie GarnicaTraining and Programs
Natalie Garnica is a creative, compassionate, and determined millennial -- spreading the message of love, sex, and freedom into the world. Having worked in the non-profit industry for many years, she is resourceful, collaborative, and well connected. Bringing her knowledge and understanding of the younger generations into "The Magic of Psalm", she will be a part of the Programs and Training Team. A Stylist and Production Manager for various high profile locations and events, Natalie's creativity and organizational skills supports her as she works with the dynamic energy of the students and teachers. Natalie is also a leader and advocate for the protection of our most important resources - land, water, and wild life (on a local and federal level). However, our most valuable resource, she believes, having spent many years working with students age 7-18 (as a swim instructor and coach), is the mind and hearts of our children. Natalie is focused on providing sustainable, comprehensive, and empowering tools to the students and to our communities as a whole. As a conscious woman in her 20's, Natalie has found herself naturally drawn to the continual exploration of practices that move us toward emotional and sexual liberation; she has been passionately involved in communities and organizations that educate the mass on sexuality and women's empowerment.
Combining her experience with students, children, and political advocacy, she is powerfully bringing awareness to the topic of sex and comprehensive sex education. The youngest member of The Magic of Psalm, but wise beyond her years; Natalie's approach, compassion, and enthusiasm for life is refreshing to all.
